Comic Arts Awards of Australia Acknowledging excellence in Australian comics publishing
Platinum Ledgers are awarded to an individual or organisation presently active in the Australian comics publishing scene, who best represents the ideals of the Awards. The recipients need not be directly involved in publishing or creating comics, so the field opens up to include scholars, journalists, bloggers and podcasters, event organisers and the like, as well as creators and publishers.
The CAAA Organising Committee and the Platinum Ledger Committee are proud to announce that the 2023 Platinum Ledger recipient is:

About Jakub
A graduate of the W. Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland, Jakub moved to Australia in 2007. Over the last 20 years, he has organised and curated many events, exhibitions and art projects. Some highlights include:
PIECES: an experimental comic art project involving 249 international creators, including numerous Australian comic book artists. Launched in 2006, the project set two official Guinness World Records: in 2013 (“The most contributors to a published comic book”) and 2021 (“The most professional contributors to a graphic novel”). The project was exhibited in Europe and Australia. PIECES was published and released as hard-cover, limited edition albums.
In 2020, he organised a special online event for the Cyber Edition of the International Festival of Comics and Games in Poland. The project provided an opportunity for Australian artists to collaborate with comic creators from Poland, creating a unique work of art.
Jakub was also the curator of the 2019 Comic Con-versation Festival in Sydney.
Since 2018, Jakub has organised the ACE! Australian Comics Exhibition (formerly known as Australian Comics presented by IllustrateYourLife) – a series of comprehensive exhibitions promoting Australian comic art overseas. The shows, partnered with Australian Embassies or comics festivals in Poland (2018), Germany (2020), and Thailand (2022) have showcased the work of over 50 Australian artists.
