Every year, the Platinum Ledger is presented to acknowledge an individual’s or entity’s contribution to the comics making community in Australia: someone who selflessly helps to further the form and advance its creators.
The nominee is to be a presently active person, organisation, group, or event, etc. They need not be directly involved in creating or publishing comics, so eligibility opens up to include scholars, educators, journalists, bloggers, podcasters, event organisers, advocates and the like, as well as creators and publishers.
The nominee should be someone with a will to, and an effect of, advancing not just the art form but primarily advancing the creators of comics in Australia. The nominee should be someone who is doing good things for the good of the Australian comics making community, the advancement of the form and the community, and not expecting any return for doing so.
The Platinum Award Committee, made up of previous recipients of this award, will decide the new recipient and the results will be announced at the Ledger Awards Ceremony. Nominate who you think would be a deserving recipient here…
Please note: if there are no entities or previous recipients of this award are nominated then no award will be awarded.
