When printed in its original "scroll" form, Part One is a little over 237cm long, and had 10 different contributors, with Part Two containing 7 more contributors, totalling in 17 different comic artists coming together to create it Fantastic Cadaver.

The Illustration Club is a community club ran by illustrators for illustrators, based in Perth WA. They host monthly free artist meetups to facilitate networking, shared learning and support. Fantastic Cadaver is one of their fundraising projects which help keep the lights on.

Luke Milton, artist and writer

The world has ended, you’re the only human left in a village full of erratic, freshly-evolved animals, and a maniacal rabbit in a vest is gifting you a blood-covered toaster.
They say they want to be friends, so why are you constantly being drugged and threatened by henchmen, kidnapped and insulted by the dog next door, and falling prey to a seemingly friendly duck who’s running an unnecessarily complicated bread scam?
The animals have taken over, and it’s time to pay the price for drinking all that milk, eating all those eggs, and coveting an unquantifiable amount of chicken nuggets. And where the hell did your cat go?

BURNOUT is a two page, eight panel poem-comic that was published in 2024 in "Is This Working?": a short prose anthology. The comic chronicles the physical impact of workplace burnout on the protagonist's body inspired by my own experiences of losing my voice for two months due to stress. Through the office-themed medium of yellow post-it notes and increasingly deranged text, Helena Pantsis provides a visual metaphor of supernatural transformation to underline this real-world issue.

REBEL REBEL The graphic biography of David BowieSelf publishedComic Book Series, Digital only / Webcomic

Con Chrisoulis, researcher, writer, artist

REBEL REBEL is the ongoing graphic biography of David Bowie’s formative years, before he was famous, researched and created by Australian creator Con Chrisoulis.
For the needs of the ongoing series, Con Chrisoulis conducts original research, uncovering details from David Bowie's youth, revealing aspects from his personal life, but also making connections with artists and movements that inspired him, as well as noting the profound influence that he had on matters of diversity and creative pluralism in popular culture.
The series has gathered a lot of press for the ways that the comics medium is used to reveal research outcomes focusing on pop culture figures, which in the past were relegated to prose text books, or superficial biopics.

REBEL REBEL has been released weekly as a webcomic since 2016. As of 2025 more than 450 self-contained webcomic episodes have been released on Patreon, whilst every three months the Patreon supporters of the project receive a self published printed comic book issue collecting several episodes. Issues are also available at major UK comics conventions, like Thought Bubble Comic Art Festival.

In 2024 the webcomic series released episode 401-433 on Patreon, whilst three self published printed issues/collections were released: REBEL REBEL Issue 12 (April 2024), REBEL REBEL Issue 13 (July 2024), and REBEL REBEL Issue 14 (October 2024), collecting episodes 310-369 of the webcomic.

BURNOUTTiny Owl WorkshopShort Story, Anthology, Mini Comic, Collected Short Stories

Words by Angharad Lodwick.
Pictures by Helena Pantsis.
Edited by Rory Hawkins

BURNOUT is a two page, eight panel poem-comic that was published in 2024 in "Is This Working?": a short prose anthology. The comic chronicles the physical impact of workplace burnout on the protagonist's body inspired by my own experiences of losing my voice for two months due to stress. Through the office-themed medium of yellow post-it notes and increasingly deranged text, Helena Pantsis provides a visual metaphor of supernatural transformation to underline this real-world issue.

When the World Was SoftAllen & UnwinGraphic Novel

Juluwarlu Group Aboriginal Corporation
Alex Mankiewicz

Yindjibarndi believe all creation is written in our landscape and was sung long ago, filling our Ngurra (Country) with sacred meanings and deep religious significance. At the dawn of time, Ngurra Nyujunggamu, the world was soft as clay and the sky was very low. Our Creator, Minkala, sang the songs from which all life and Ngurra evolved. These are some of our stories.

Our grandmothers and grandfathers sing our songs and tell our stories every day, just like our old people long ago sang songs and told stories to their children.

And now we are sharing them with you.

Dynamically illustrated by Alex Mankiewicz with striking artwork by members of the Juluwarlu Art Group, When the World Was Soft is a powerful gift of culture for young and old.

The Sweetness Between UsAllen & UnwinGraphic Novel

Sarah Winifred Searle

Summer holidays are over. Perley and Amandine should be busy with their school's knitting club and hockey, but instead they're struggling with major life changes.

Perley has been diagnosed with diabetes and is trying to get his head around sugar levels and insulin shots. Amandine, part of a respected vampire family, has been turned much younger than she expected after a near-fatal car accident. Bonding over hospital trips and new diets, the two teens form a fast friendship. And Amandine's ability to taste blood sugar levels is a helpful perk for Perley that also provides her an ethical source of sustenance (essential for a vegan-turned-vampire).

But as the year passes, Perley and Amandine begin to realise that their coping strategies – and their blood-sipping-turned-romance – may not be as healthy as they first thought. Will they be able to get their lives back to normal? And when so much has changed, what does 'normal' even mean?

A sweet YA graphic novel full of fantasy, friendship and first love, from the award-winning creator of The Greatest Thing.

The Turtlenecks have figured out the answer to the impossible question: how do you make a living as an artist without compromising your experimental art practice? An art practice which is too radical to be monetised! Is there a way to make art without having a soul-sucking day job that drains your creative spirit? The answer is so simple, you’ll wish you thought of it first: heists.

Steven Christie is a comics maker based in Naarm, with a background in drawing, animation and video art. After graduating from RMIT University (Fine Art) he moved to Brooklyn and self published his first graphic novel Arrowheads, a brightly coloured satire of the art world. The follow up, Turtlenecks was picked up by AdHouse books and published in 2020. After returning to Australia in 2022 he made the comic Punchline Sinker, a cosmic horror set in an off-world tropical fish store, which was published in Cram #3. He is currently working on the third stand-alone installment of the Turtlenecks series, Good Praxis, to be released serially as a Glom Press Partwork.
