Over fifty years ago, the publishers of Melbourne's first Sunday newspaper made an extraordinary decision to publish a full-page colour comic strip created by two young guys fresh out of university, without any previous comic work. It was a crazy idea about an inept, but well-meaning Melbourne-based superhero. In 1970, Iron Outlaw was an overnight sensation. This book, The Complete Iron Outlaw, is a historical time capsule of that era, offering a reflective insight into the mores of early 1970s Melbourne, and Australia. An incisive essay by Philip Bentley give context to the works.

Shaun Sunday _ writer, Artist, Book Design.

A Brainbeast Studios Double Feature Flipbook containing two short stories - Below The Waist and Snuffles the Indomitable.

Below the Waist Is a bit of an exploration of toxic masculinity and "tough guy" culture in Australia, that started as an idea for a short creature feature film for Youtube, which I never had the budget to pull off, and honestly as a bad joke taken to a very entertaining extreme.
But since I can make comics, now my bad joke gets to be your problem!

Introducing the character and world of Snuffles the Indomitable - this short is a fun romp to set the tone for my upcoming webcomic!
Snuffles the Indomitable has been my dream project for almost 10 years now - inspired by a tshirt Robin (my partner) got me for Xmas one year, which had a cute little samurai pug on it. I started thinking of ideas for adventures the little guy could go on, and Snuffles the Indomitable was born!

Colours by Pete Collins (Bardic Verses, Memoirs of the Morbid Vol. 2, Moncul Vol. 8) - - Letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou and Toben Racicot (The Man Who Found The Future, Glitch Cache, Side Quest, Pilgrim's Dirge)
- Fantastic covers by Marcus Jimenez (Isai, Deadly living, Falling Stars) and Matt Harding (Boris Karloffs Gold Key Mysteries, Batman: The Brave & The Bold, Hyperdrive).

Nina is a liminal and surreal comic series about an inner child gone wild. Ned Kelly & The 5 Revolvers

WHERE TWO WORLDS BLEED INTO ONE

In an Australia where two worlds collide, the infamous bushranger Ned Kelly thought his story ended at Glenrowan. He was wrong.

When Judge Bloodstone begins hunting families harbouring "relics of rebellion," desperate mother Elara seeks the one man who might stand against tyranny. But the Kelly she finds is a broken scavenger, haunted by loss and hiding from his past.

As ancient doors crack open and buried gold calls to outlaw blood, Kelly must gather a new gang from Australia's legendary bushrangers: Ben Hall, Captain Thunderbolt, and the unhinged Mad Dog Morgan. The old stories speak of a prophecy carved in stone, four weapons forged by outlaws, one forged by the innocent. Five keys to unlock hell itself.

But when Bloodstone awakens a mechanical nightmare powered by a child's terror, the price of rebellion becomes devastatingly clear.

Some legends refuse to stay buried.

Some fights are worth dying for twice.

Ariel Slamet Ries - Artist and Writer

In the not-too-distant future, most of humanity resides on its last-ditch effort at Meridian, a remote alien planet where you’re more likely to be born superhuman than left-handed.

None of that is important to Oberon Afolayan. Since his mildly public breakdown, his whole life seems to be spiraling out of control—from dropping out of university to breaking up with his boyfriend, it seems like only a karmic inevitability when he wakes up one day with the ability to conjure his dreams in the real world.

Oberon’s newfound powers come with a facsimile of his high school crush, Kon, who mysteriously dropped off the face of the planet almost three years ago and who is a little more infuriating (if not also infuriatingly hot) than Oberon remembers.

Kon makes it his mission to turn Oberon’s life around, and while they struggle to get a handle on his powers and his disastrous personal life (not to mention the appearance of strange nightmare creatures), it turns out this dream version of Kon has secrets of his own—dangerous ones.

Oberon might have more on his plate than he originally thought, but is giving up his dreams—even the one he might have accidentally fallen in love with—the only way to find happiness in reality?

53Maurice & The Metal Issue 4Self PublishedComic Book Series, Comic BookAll ages

Aaron Sammut, Creator
Lauren Marshall, Illustrator

Maurice & The Metal is an indie comic series set in the mid-1980s that follows Maurice Hill, a lazy teenage metalhead and drummer who suddenly discovers he has impossible strength whenever he listens to heavy metal through his beat-up Walkman. Over the first three issues he’s dragged from a dead-end band existence into reluctant heroism -battling goth punks, confronting gloomy music forces, and slowly learning that his metal-powered abilities tie him to a larger struggle to “keep metal alive”.

In Issue 4 - Into the Void, the story shifts into deeper territory. Maurice is beginning to understand more about his power and the responsibilities that come with it, stepping into the void of real purpose. As he trains (yes, even hitting the gym) and starts to accept what he’s meant to be, a growing darkness spreads through the Bay Area music scenes. This chapter pushes him beyond youthful aimlessness toward confronting the rising threats against the culture and music he loves.
